This weekend my friends introduced me to this great little pizza shop in Quincy, MA, it’s called SchoolHouse Pizza. I planned ahead of time, knowing full well that I intended to eat like a pig.
You see, I’ve been on a diet since March that allows for one cheat meal a week and SchoolHouse Pizza was a meal worthy to be called my cheat meal!
If you’re looking for a light, healthy meal I wouldn’t recommend SHP: while they do take pride in their food and use fresh, local ingredients, it’s difficult to resist the temptation of eating just one more slice of their tasty pizza (…and then another one after that). You can tell that they put a lot of thought into the topping combinations for their specialty pizzas, the flavors work excellent together.
My experience has only been with the “Dean’s List” and “S.T.A.R. Pupil” specialty pizza, and looking at the menu, I see they have quite a few appetizer, pasta and salad selections. The salads sound delicious, but after tasting their pizza I’m not sure I’d ever go there for a salad.
SchoolHouse Pizza is moderately priced, but worth shelling out the few extra dollars. They also place a strong emphasis on using local ingredients to support small businesses, which I love. It’s one of the best eateries in Quincy and a great spot to grab some food if you’re in the area doing the John Adams Tour.
