The holiday festivities kick off shortly after Thanksgiving with Christmas events in Massachusetts. The lights and decorations go up, classic holiday tunes pump through every radio speaker and the air is filled with the smells of sugar cookies and hot chocolate. There is are so many wonderful events to be excited for this year.

Boston Holiday Events
The Nutcracker
The timeless classic ballet is being put on by the Boston Ballet at the Boston Opera House November 23rd – December 30th. Tickets start at $35.
Downtown Crossing Holiday Market
A huge market that takes over Downtown Crossing. Vendors sell original, handmade arts & crafts. The market runs from November 25th – December 24th and runs most of the day: 11AM – 7PM (5PM on Sundays).
Cape Cod Events
Christmas on Cape Cod
This celebration features harbor lights, parades, caroling, holiday strolls and so much more. Beginning on November 23rd, Christmas on Cape Cod stretches the entire month with a long list of events for the whole family.
Carver Holiday Events
Festival of Lights
Edaville USA is putting on its annual Festival of Lights on November 23, 24, 25, 29, December 2, 6-9, 12-24, 26 and January 6th. Take a ride in a coach through a winter wonderland scene. Tickets are $18.
Springfield Holiday Events
Bright Nights at Forest Park
Visit with Santa in his magical, dancing forest, take part in the Santa 5K or take a horse-drawn carriage ride in this celebration of St. Nick. This event will run from November 21st – January 1st, with admittance running $21.
Stockbridge Holiday Events
Stockbridge Main Street at Christmas
This annual celebration in Stockbridge features a holiday concert, caroling, house tours and story reading. It takes place from November 30th – December 2nd.
Stoneham Holiday Events
ZooLights
Running from November 22nd – December 31st, explore ZooLights – Stone Zoo decked out in 1000’s of twinkling lights. See Santa’s Castle and take pictures with Santa himself. Entrance is $7.
Sturbridge Holiday Events
Christmas by Candlelight
Enjoy an old school Christmas celebration at Old Sturbridge Village. During Christmas by Candlelight you will be treated to musical performances, sleigh rides, holiday readings, sing-a-longs and so much more. This runs on Fridays, Saturday and Sundays from December 7th – 23rd. Tickets are about $15.
