Peabody is a large, dense city located on the North Shore. It houses some 53,000 people and was once that area’s leather tanning center. Peabody went through many changes throughout its history; originally part of Salem, this area was set apart and was eventually incorporated into Danvers in 1752. They then broke off from Danvers in 1855 to become South Danvers and the name was changed 13 years later to Peabody. The city’s most popular attraction is Brooksby Farm, an official, historic farm that is managed by the city.

- Brooksby Farm – If you live in the area, it’s something worth checking out. However, I wouldn’t call this a travel destination. They have various fruit picking throughout the year, with an emphasis on apple picking. It’s your typical New England farm complete with a small petting zoo and a fresh produce store. Beware of the bees, they’re everywhere! Official site.
